On-line Art Gallery launch shines positive light on how art helps people heal, and recover from trauma in life. Elaine Whitefeather, Executive Director, of the Domestic Violence Intervention Center of Citrus Heights invites the community to join them, and numerous artist as they launch their online art gallery at the “Garden of Hope ~ Survivor Transformational Art Show and Art Auction” on Saturday, June 6, 2009, 6-9 pm, at the Citrus Heights City Hall Garden Patio, 6237 Fountain Square Drive, Citrus Heights, CA 95621. This premier event showcases how art can be a powerful tool in healing from any trauma in life, and how a community can join together to help serve others. Cost is $20 and may be purchased by calling 916-728-5613 or visiting us at www.dvinterventioncenter.org. Tickets will be available at the door.
Come and enjoy unique expressions of healing on canvas, glass, ceramic, fabric art, photography, poetry, dance, and music. Artist such as Tony Natsoulas, Donna Billick, Mark Abildgaard, and Angela Oats have donated work to raise awareness of the healing aspects of art, and support the launch of the DVIC Online Art Gallery. Entertainment provided by recording artist Scott Berry will fill the garden while appetizers, raffles and refreshments have been made available by the DVIC Partners for Peace.
